Custom Field

Often when doing an integration of a legacy system with CRM, we need to create an attribute "code", to which our customers are already accustomed to working, instead of Id (GUID) generated by the CRM as shown below:

And the moment of despair, you call your friend from the time you develop applications using
say ... @ 10.10 Biztalk MVP and she as to complicate the situation, ask you what is CRM.

One of the features of Dynamics CRM, is the customization of forms, buttons and entities.

In this example we will work with the entity ACCOUNT, where we will add a field to be
used as "code".

 Open Dynamics CRM, click Settings (A) Customizations (B) and Customize the System (C).


Select Entities, Account and Fields





Will be displayed all the attributes of the entity Account.





Click the New button to add a new attribute.



Finally click "Save and Close." Soon after click "Publish Customizations in all."
 ***** Any customization must be published.
Now we need to put our new attribute in the interface (screen) the register of Account.

Select Entities, and Forms Account. Immediately after clicking the item where the type
of form is Main.




Select the attribute set on the right side and drag to the desired place.





Finally click "Save and Close." Soon after click "Publish Customizations in all."
 ***** Any customization must be published.
 Now go to "Account" and you will see our field created.
